An electrician is a skilled tradesman specializing in wiring of domestic/residential establishments, transmission lines, construction machinery, and other related equipment. In United States, there are many states that have different types of license required for electricians. License holder can work in various specialty areas. Different states define the different types of license as licensed practical electrician, licensed electrician, or electrical contractor. Electrician training generally lasts from six months to one year. To become a licensed electrician, a person needs to pass the state board exam.
